Small Engine Mechanic

Jacob Bros Construction is immediately hiring a Small Engine Mechanic. Three (3) years of directly related work experience is a mandatory requirement. 

The small engine mechanic works on gas and diesel powered construction equipment including but not limited to Telehandlers, Boom lifts, Scissor lifts, Air compressors, small gas equipment pumps, generators and diesel engines.

Brands we work with include Stihl, Husqvarna, John Deere, Wacker, Tsunami, Multiquip, etc.

  • Inspect and test engines, oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment; test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Perform preventative maintenance work including cleaning and lubricating 
  • Document all service, repair and maintenance information and records; generate work orders as required
  • Monitor inventory, order and receive new parts as required 

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Mandatory class 5 vehicle license in good standing
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment; or trade school graduate
  • Knowledge of small engine repair and rebuilds, hydraulic repair, diesel engines and construction equipment 
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, to work at at heights, to stand and bend for extensive periods of time, and to lift up to 50 lbs
